Philippines Dec 2009

Philipines I have learned to be an interesting place more than I had anticipated it to be.
The highlight of the trip for me was walking through the villages of Borocay and Cebu. What pleasant and friendly people they are and away from the tourist places we get to see the place as it is. It's been long... long overdue but here's snippets of the highlight of the trip for me:

Spotted these kids from afar while they were playing soccer. Such eager kids... they were running and scrambling at me wanting their pictures taken.

Cebu is popular for guitar making. I was most looking forward to seeing how they make guitars.

Came across this lady in the village of Cebu. It was about Christmas then and she's one of the carollers.

I noticed many of the dogs in Philippines were thin and have a sad look in their eyes. Here's one.

Here a piece of wood is tied to the mould so that it keeps to the shape of the guitar and will be used as part of guitar making

The people there are predominantly Catholics. Was in one of their larger and traditional church. This is a view from the inside of the church.

I would go again if the opportunity permits. The next time to more of the off the beaten track.
